Hi all,

I am trying to install the Mod tools 7.5 on my laptop Win 7 32bit and my desktop Win 7 64bit.  The laptop install went just fine and I have no problems there, but the desktop install just doesn’t work at all.  After the install when I try to start the program, I get nothing no splash screen just a quick command line window which disapears and nothing starts up.

Any suggestions?  Is there a 64 bit version of the mod tools 7.5 available (on the download link I didn’t see that option).  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am trying to determine my pipeline for either XNA or NeoAxis, and XSI mod tools looks like it could be great.

Thank you,

Murteas

I installed ModTool on my 64-bit Windows 7 machine, and it won’t run either.
It bombs out after loading jscript.dll (according to Process Monitor). I’m afraid I don’t see a workaround or fix for this.

Thank you for trying.  I’d love to get this working somehow.  I’ve tried the runonce.bat file and I saw something about having to remove quicktime, but I haven’t tried that yet.

Can you share exactly what you had to do to get it to run?  Any special steps, did you use the 32bit version or did you find a 64bit version somewhere?

The only difference I can tell is that I am not running SP 1 yet, I guess I can install it and see if that makes a difference (although that seems unlikely).  do you have quicktime installed?

did you have UAC on?

Yes, I did but it did prompt me to give permission and I said yes.  Do you need to install without UAC on?

I’ll have to try it tonight after work.  Thanks for the suggestion.  I’ll post the results.  If you think of anything else, let me know.  Thanks again!

Turning off UAC worked… Bizarre, but there you go.  Thanks for the suggestion.  I was so confused by that problem.

I have exactly the same problem, and turning UAC off didn’t work for me.

I had to turn it off, then reboot the computer, install with admin privilleges, and then the mod tool works.  I’ve left UAC off for now, I’m not sure if I could turn it back on or not.
