I need to replace the gravity gun model to something more “preschooler friendly”.
Upon following a tutorial (http://www.hl2world.com/wiki/index.php/CStrikeSource_Weapon_Replacement), I ran into a problem.
GCFScape works great and I extracted the weapon model’s folder.
Tying to run mdldecompiler.exe (http://www.chaosincarnate.net/cannonfodder/cftools.htm)
(in sourcesdk/bin and in sourcesdk/bin/orangebox/bin) generated the following error:
The procedure entry point QAppendSlash could not be located in the dynamic link library vstdlib.dll.
I’m not sure, but maybe this is incompatible with Vista?

Try the mdldecompiler.exe in sourcesdk/bin/ep1/bin. This is for episode 1 engine.
Start Source SDK and make sure ‘Half-Life 2 Episode One’ engine is chosen in the
drop down menu, also have ‘Half-Life 2’ chosen for the current game.

The map I’m trying to make is for HL2: Ep2, but I’ll try your suggestion anyways.

The episode one part is for HL2. The orange box engine version is for Team Fortress 2 and Day of Defeat Source.
