| Source Ref. Stuff can't be found (plz help)
|
|
|
One of the big reasons I decided to purchase XSI years ago was learning that Valve switched over to XSI in the middle of production of HL2.

|
Yes, I found the set of folders, one problem though, there is no buggy_referance.scn.
I looked, nothing there but: Buggy_aim.scn and Buggy_ammo_close.scn

Open up Source SDK and press “Refresh SDK Content.”

You can use a program called GCFScape to extract the files you need into your sourcesdk_content/hl2/modelsrc/ folder from the sourcesdk.gcf file. Just install GCFScape, run program, then file> open> (then browse to your steamapps folder) sourcesdk.gcf.
Extract files into your sourcesdk_content/hl2/modelsrc folder as you need, or like I did just extract all files in the sourcesdk_content/hl2/ folder in the .gcf file into your sourcesdk_content/hl2 folder in your steam installation.

Ok, well, the thing about refreshing worked, I can now edit it, thanks for your help guys, oh, and for some reason, the textures for the stuff in the tutorial files don’t show up right, I went into Textured, and Textured Decal, but it just doesn’t work.

As I said, you need to relink the textures.
Open Explorer (8), hit o (Oh, not zero), open clips and update the path. Note, XSI can also import Valve vtf texture files.
