Changing from Euler to quarternion rotation causes crash

My characters need to rotate on various axis quite often, so I need to change the specific bones rotation to quarternion in many of its sequences. The problem is shortly after changing, XSI crashes and closes down.

Is this a common issue, anyone else had this problem?
