I want to use the xsi for animated model character the problem that i have is when i create the skeleton with their respective controls I’ve tried to set the “characterkeyset” to the controls and it works perfectly in the xsi but when I export only the bones and the model to fbx this haven’t any animation I make sure that export dialog is correctly

I select the bones and the model to export has selected only and hide the controls to d not export it

how make that the animations works over the bones apply the controls transforms to the bones? how do you do it?

i have time trying to think how do it but I haven’t any idea

Go to animation-tools-plot animation-all transformations. Give it a name and the duration of the keyframes. This will export to FBX the animation.
There´s one issue with FBX axis to export to other packages. If this happens hit this thread again with your new question.

I’m doing this in xsi 6.02 right now using the Biped auto-rigger with the skeletal shadow rig option. I simply create a group for all the bones in the shadow rig and hide it; create my animation using the biped rig; unhide the shadow rig in the group you made and hide the biped rig; shift-select all the bones of the shadow rig with the marquee tool with one click and drag; Plot all transformations to the selected shadow rig bones (don’t plot to bone effector nulls); Deactivate the constraints that bind the shadow rig to the Biped rig; Delete the Biped Rig and export the shadow rig to FBX but uncheck the “export xsi effectors” box. Hope that helps.
