I’m needing some help applying bones to a model, I have a quadraped rig for a dog and a cat and I have already set up a guide for the dog as well as created the rig from the guide. I can’t apply the rig to the dog however and I’m only moving the bones.

(P.S. I apologize in advance if this topic has already been posted, normally I wouldn’t come to a forum to get advice since I’m in school and working on this but I can’t find any tutorials or books that will tell me what it is I’ve got to do, either that, or I’m just retarded and passed over it umptillion times.)

Select the dog mesh, then go to animate - envelope - set envelope , then select the group which contains all the bones you want the mesh to be affected by, then right click to end the session.

If you re using a pre made rig, they might have a skinning group prepared already.

Thanks for the help, I keep selecting the bones and *trying* to select the envelope groups, but I cannot find the envelope group that I’m supposed to envelope too. I’ve tried setting my own groups, but I still can’t select those either, am I able to set my own group and still envelope to it, and if so, how?

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out. I just set envelope and picked all the bones via schematic view. Thanks for the help, Ooops!
