I noticed that some parts of the users guide with respect to Face Robot are have not been updated for Softimage 2010 and the fact that Face Robot is now not a separate application.

If you are not doing motion capture but want to use the controls in Face Robot to animate the face is it now necessary to go to the EXPORT stage and build the EXPORT ANIMATION RIG or can one just for example add a body rig by switching over to the Softimage interface and animate the Face Robot cluster controls in Softimage or as alternative if you have a rig that includes a Face Robot rig just animate the face rig in Face Robot?

I noticed that once I solved the face in Face Robot I could switch to the Softimage interface and still move the actor controls and have the clusters respond, and if I wanted to create a biped rig etc. If I plan to only animate in Softimage what is the point in creating the EXPORT ANIMATION RIG?

hi

did you manage to make it work with the main body rig? if yes how did you handle the rig enevlope issue? i mean unless there is a way that you can you apply layered/couble envelops independently. one driving the FR controls and the second driving the head control of the main rig.
i hope i made sense.

thanks in advance
