I have a simple question.....can you animate verts in XSI? Do you have to have a envelope on your mesh? I have been doing it in max (sorry i have to use max in my workflow at work!) and you and just select a vert and move it and max will key the animation for you.
Can XSI do this?
Cheers

alright ben
the only way you can do it is with either cluster with center. so select your single vert or a couple of whatever, then right click, and cluster with center.
or just use shape animation.

Alright cocka
i was thinking shape but i need to bake all the animation down onto keys and export to max somehow! (Crosswalk or FBX)
if i could bake bone animation to keys that would be good.

you should be able to plot shape animation to be honest. im sure you can.
so even if your animation consists of bone and shape animation together, you should be able to take that mesh and say bake frame 24 (or whatever ) to a shape clip.
dont know what the best way to get it to max would be, i ent got much experience with that, but maybe like you said FBX export through crosswalk.
to plot stuff look under animation.

export pointcache through http://www.kai-wolter.com/resources/xsi/kp_pc_xsi#more-39
and in MAX pointcache modifier to import it
or export pointoven MDD file through File/Export/Point Oven/PointOven baker
