What are some of the methods you use to block animation in Softimage ?

I use a hammer to squash everything that moves.

I am no professional animator and to be honest animation is giving me headache hehe. Anyway, I just went through this whole process at my university and here is what we did.

1.First you need reference!
2.Find the extreme poses ( the end and the start of the next action )
3.Pose your rig or biped accordinatly following your reference.
4.Find your timing from your reference then you can either keep at is or personalize it.
5.Well thats about it for the blocking lol. The rest is making my head spin but rigging/skinning is not so dont ask me.

I always block first with character key sets.
Here is a tutorial on how to set them up if you created your own rig…

Thank you, I didn’t know you were french everyone who uses Softimage seems French or British I don’t get how that works ! I must be out of the loop as just a regular Canuck ! Anyhow I LOVE your crowd tutorial, very well done !

Anyone knows if is possible translate or “remake” the RT materials of Zbrush into XSI ?

or some doc or tuto about RT shaders for SOFTIMAGE | XSI ?
