I am trying to set up an elaborate rube goldberg machine with rigid bodies and Softimage simulation.

First question is if anyone here can point me to a (free) tutorial that goes into pitfalls and make sure you do this kind of things in the whole simulation aspect.

Second is how to make “triggers”. By trigger I mean, at some point apply force to an object in this direction. For example if I would have a dart gun, and when the trigger gets pulled a dart on top of the gun gets shot into the air, totally unrelated to the force applied to the trigger, i.e. the gun is not modelled in such a way that there exists objects from the trigger pushing the dart.

Thanks
