Hi,

I made my own texture for a rusty, metallic container (see appendix) and i have problems to apply it to my softimage model.
My approch was to have my container (Cube, scaled 3x3x5) selected -> get -> Texture -> Add -> Image; than select my diffuse texture and set a cubic texture projection to it, than in the “Layout"-Tab switched the Layout to the the symbol of the unfolded cube. (See appendix)

My result looks like the third attachment. There must be an easy way of fixing this problem, but i have absolutly no idea how.
May someoe help me out?

regards

Oh boy a post I can reply to!

You might want to read up on how UV mapping works, because the problem is actually staring at you right in the 3rd screenshot. :P But I’ve attached a pic of what you should do to get the texture to match up with your cube.

Also, you should probably scale your UVs to match the box better...your texture is going to appear stretched if you just stick with the default cube mapping.
