Compositing to Live Action with Mod Tool?

Is it possible to make animations with xsi mod tool 6 for video? I’m a film maker btw.

im sure the mod tool does not let you rend higher than a certain size and also has water make, or maybe is does not let you render at all, its one of the two.

Mod Tool only supports realtime hardware rendering (OpenGL or DirectX) as it is intended for game development. It sort of has Mental Ray but only for Ultimapper, and even then it is limited to 512x512 maps and has consistant visual artifacts.

If you have ESS package you can not only do composting but you can hook up the output of a alpha channel and use it to drive particles. I am working on such a process. Once I am finished I planned on creating a tutorial on it. Also I have found a good way of doing Chromakeying. Softimage has very powerful operators.

I have been working on music videos and fan films. If you ever have any questions let me know. ;)

The mod tool will not give you what you need for film.

PS: Below are the test shots I did completely in Softimage.
I did this to see if I could get a good key from incorrect lighting shot.
