Hi,

I’ve been looking for a option to lock camera the way you could not interact with it in viewport.

You can lock values from keying panel and it locks those transforms from entering values numerically , but you still can still move camera around interacively.

The idea is that I’ve done some compositions and frameing with camera and do not want somebody in the chain of production beeing able to change it later (accidentally for example).

Any suggestions, hints?

Tnx,
Maido

If you keyframe the camera animation, the user can still orbit/zoom/pan, but as soon as you change the frame the camera goes back to its animated transfo.

So, maybe put some constant fcurves on the camera?

You could create an expression for all the parameters you want to lock just by entering their current values. This will make the camera be totally steady. I am sure there has to be a less “expensive” way for this. Will check out when I get back to the office, but this should work.
Hope it helps,

I’ve been using keying and it is probably good enough option, when think about it. I could also lock those keyframed transforms later to make it sure to stay away accidental chnages.

Tnx

Select your camera, go to Hierarchy>Link Info>Locks> and check move XYZ

For softimage 2012 I came across the same problem. Since i’m a newbe i search for it quite a bit but eventually found the solution.

Go to your explorer rightclick the camera, object or what ever you want to lock, and down the options you’ll see locks (obvious :( ) here you have 3 lock options, i haven’t really figured out what each one individual does but i know if i lock all it does what i desire !!!

Hopefully this will be of help in the future !
