Hi

I am a student and have been working on Softimage for a while now. I recently got a new laptop, installed Softimage but when i try open the program it crashes before it even gets to the view ports. I have tried adding the script to the Default.xsily but it still crashes. I have heard that Radeon and softimage dont work well together, but it meets all the requirements?!

My specs are: HP Probook 4730s, Windows 7 Professional 64bit. 4 gig DDR5 RAM, Radeon HD 6490M.

Could someone please tell me what to do, or how i can fix this issue. I need to resolve this ASAP!

Thanks

If you modified the Default layout to hide the OpenGL viewports, but Softimage still crashes at startup, then the problem is probably not the card.

I followed the steps and the results were the same as the example. I have no idea what im missing or doing wrong because Softimage still crashes at start up.

you are a life saver, thank you! But when Softimage opens the view ports are missing. Is this due to the one fix I tried before? Attached is a screen shot.

Yes, you have to undo the change to Default.xsily and put back “View Manager”
