Every once in a while I use Helge Mathee's / Byron Nash's Export Script to get camera / null position and rotation info out to After Effects. Now...... it only works on Cameras for some reason. If I select Nulls they come into After Effects but without animation on them - just flatlined, static values. Tons of keys, each the same. It's on the Softimage side too - not After Effects - because if I inspect the XML file the problem is already there - it's not like it's just After Effects interpreting the XML incorrectly. My reee-diculous workaround has been to drop a camera under each Null and select THEM instead ... and the animation comes through to After Effects. And then, as if that wasn't enough, sometimes after the script runs and I save out the XML file, Softimage DELETES the objects I selected for data export. Took me a few times to realize THAT pain in the butt. Any ideas? Or better yet, is there another, better, easier way to accomplish what I'm trying to do here? An old game engine that I mod uses dotXSI 3.0 for compiling and sometimes it lets me export with UV's and some models I get function not implemented in EXP version and the compiled model will have no UV info. Seems like it's a certain property that the polymesh has that is stopping it sometimes from exporting. I've tried quite a few things but the only thing that seems to work is if I export using crosswalk, reimport then export as dotXSI 3.0. My control shows delayed - shows last position(or not at all) until i click, or press button, which change something...then shows actual position for example - i have empty scene, camera viewport. I create primitive - polygon mesh - sphere, property window appear, but sphere not, but when a set radius, or i'm S-RMB orbiting, sphere appear too. Now i rotate this sphere a little bit i had local Axis, now when a click on Global Axis, local axis is still here, but when a i click, or orbit or something... global axis appear... The similar situation is with region render, dont render all, just some part of scene, until i click on memo or something. I hope you understand me. However suddenly the rigs seem to be breaking, they are broken even before enveloping to my character. For example the foot and leg rig will not move at all. When I move the arm the wrist and hand is left behind. I know this problem is not to do with my files as I have moved them onto another system and they work fine. I also know how to rig and use the rig so it is not me being incompetent. I am going to re-install softimage 2013 and hope that works, however I want to know how to fix this problem as it has also happened on my laptop and re-installing each time is a pain. Is this a bug or glitch or have a accidently done something?
