The issue I am having is when I start SoftImage the four render panes that have the grid drawn in them are a solid grey, no grid lines. When I attempt to render a primitive like a 4x4x4 cube the panes remain a solid grey. I can click and drag my mouse across the panes and select the object, but I still cannot see it. I have tried everything I can think of. Including running runonce.bat.

I have installed the 7.5 free version of Softimage and encountered this same issue. I’ve uninstalled that version and now have the Full Student version, and the issue remains. Has anyone else encountered this issue? I have reviewed the forums and have found no similar issue as of yet. I have reported the issue to autodesk, but I am hoping someone here my know how to fix what I am experiencing.

Looks like its an issue with your video card driver.

Try this quick test to see if it is a display driver issue.
