XSI doesn’t run on my 32bit AMD Windows 7 machine. I get this error message ...

Error: there is no interactive license available to run XSI
do you want to to start the license manager?

Whether I start the license manager or not (I just today got the latest license manager version ) XSI never appears on screen. Does anyone know a way forward with this? Thanks for advice.

Yes, the license server runs, in fact I can start multiple instances of the license manager for every failed start of the program. Are these discussion areas really the only support option now that AutoDesk bought SoftImage?

Did you check that you have the required license installed?
Click Query Usage.

Did you check that SPM_HOST was set correctly?
See the wiki article.

Can you telnet to port 7050 on the license server?
See the wiki article.

In the SPM log, do you see any entries that indicate that Softimage is connecting to the license server? Look for the computer name eg

Oct/29/09 13:34:42 INFO: new connection (fd=484) from COMPUTER_NAME[127.0.0.1]
