Hi
I was reading Ed Harriss’ XSI review when I stumbled across this: ”For example, it can connect to an extrude operator and push out polygons”.

So now I’m sitting here and trying to do this for the past 15minutes without success. :(

My first thought was to use the get data node. But when I click on explore, it doesn’t offer me the extrude operator, or any of it’s parameters. Also drag’n’droping from the explorer into the ice tree doesn’t work.

Can anybody explain the steps necessary to achieve this?
How do I get an extrude (or any other operator) into my ice tree?

cheers,
Daniel

drag an attribute of the extrude op into your graph (drag and drop one of the little green keyframe widgets into the graph.. ie the length attr of the extrude op)

Wow! Thank you so much. This was driving me nuts. I think I tried to drag everything but those small divots into the ICE tree.

...sight.. relieved :)

cheers,
Daniel

p.s. Is this technique documented?
