Hi;

I’ve instantiated lights on a pointcloud. I want to be able pass the particle colors to the color channel of the instantiated lights but can’t seem to find a way to access them after they’re instantiated. How can I do this?

Thanx

AJ

i think you will ahve to do it on the original light.

there is a node in the render tree that will look up attributes of the ice tree. like colour and what not.

so you will plug this into the original lights colour i think. press F1 and investigate a little more. :)

Thanx for the reply… But in case you’ve looked into it yourself, SI only recognizes ICE tree attributes in the render tree if the object whose shader you’re working on has the very ICE tree set on the object in question. No one answers this thread, either because I explained myself poorly or that such an operation in ICE is simply not possible. Once the lights are instantiated, there seems to be no way to get to their master attributes and control them thru the ICE tree - Render tree…

What effect are you trying to do? Maybe there is another way…
