Hello guys,
My name is Deus Duke and I am a developer at Magnetic Dreams.  I will soon have my first tutorial on creating re-topology in ICE posted and I am interested in doing more tutorials.  It would be great if you guys could post some things that you would want to be covered in my tutorials.  I will let you guys know which topics I choose to work on.  It would be great if other people that know ICE could pick up some topics and make some tutorials also!

Hey,

Thanks for you tutorial and interest in sharing your skills and knowledge.

I have seen some samples videos about what you can do with ice for rigging and deformation but have yet to have anyone do a complete tutorial on how to rig a character using Ice. Meaning a rig that could be production ready.

Thanks

Hey thanks for the topic suggestion.

I have very little experience create production quality rigs (after all I’m just a lowly programmer lol).

However I had started working on some things a couple months ago that involved rigging in ICE. I don’t think it will count as production quality but I can definitely share what I have picked up.

Give me some time and I will put something together.

+1

Yes, wouldn’t mind a small intro to ICE rigging.

Thank you for your tutorials and time you’re dedicating to us.

cheers

Hi, I liked your ICE topo tutorial. I just thought I would suggest an ICE project/tutorial.

I would like to see some use of MIDI data or real time control from keyboards, controllers, synths, music software etc. in ICE. I read somewhere that there is something in Softimage that already can make use of MIDI but I haven’t seen any working or available.

I think if someone could work it out for general use it would be well received as music and sound effects are crutial for good animations and syncronising for visualisation,Video DJ’s or other perforing artists. Also this could be developed further when realtime GPU rendering starts kicking in, or for physicX use in live performances.

I don’t know if this kind of stuff is possible yet with ICE as I am not a programmer, I do not know if realtime input/output is even posible in ICE, or if it is just to much work, maybe someone could let me know.

Just some thoughts.
Thanks
LMC

thank you for you retopo tutorial. I did have a little trouble reproducing the ICE tree as I got a bit lost. Is it possible to post a screen shot of the tree or even the compound itself?

Thank you for your time and effort

There are some ICE Tutorials and I’m making a location where you can find them all, although I’m making baby steps in understanding ICE. I’m a little better with ICE particles then I am with ICE Geometry <sigh>
