Hi there, i am not quite sure if this is the right location or if it should go into “Shading” , but i’ll try my luck :

i need to make an object that shatters into some crystal-like dust ... small glitters, sandy, dusty, and then morphes into another object

does anyone know how to do this ? i guess (or hope) i will be able to blow the object up into particles, but i dont know how to render them. the volume shader doesnt give the solid look to the particles i need, and i guess geometry instancing will not be an option, due to the amount of particles needed.

any help will be appreciated, i am quite a XSI-Noob :-(

(i tried to search but didnt find anything useful)
