What is the maximum count of referenced models a Softimage scene can hold, please?

Thanks.

As far as I know, there’s no hard-coded limit.
Offhand, I haven’t seen any cases where someone has had too many.

How many ref models are you thinking of using? Tens ?Hundreds? Thousands?

Hi Stephen,

Thank you for helping me here often.

Besides other things, I use Softimage to design game levels. It means, that I should load referenced model of every object in the scene. Afterwards, I will instantiate those models, and position them in the game level.

The game level is planned to contain around 100 referenced models. it might be 80 or 150.

Are those numbers realistic? Does better idea come to your mind on how to design game levels, please? Instantiating referenced models looks to me as the most memory saving and fastest way. But there might be something even better.

Thanks, as usual.

Best regards.
