I am having some difficulty with an Extrude Along Axis operation while following the Introduction to Polygon Modeling in XSI video from I3D Tutorials. In the second part of the computer monitor video set when the two end polygons of the base are extruded and rotated, my polygons are rotating along different axes.

Extrude uses an axis that is computed locally for every polygon that’s extruded. The Y orientation is always along the polygon normal, but the X and Z orientation can’t be easily predicted.

So if it works with one extrude operation this will be just luck.
I would do 2 extrudes with the same values and check which axis works.

I always create half of an oject, then symetrize when ready...Less headaches.
