I’m stuck with modtools at the moment, so I’m pretty much limited to .exp and .obj.
It was just a primitive grid with the shader applied.

If you’re using the shader I threw in there, just follow this video (except the one I added uses a color and specular map as well)

Hi

I run into some viewport issues with direct x and .fx shaders. I imported the code on my RT node and still the model didn’t showed. Then in the material node, in the OpenGL tab, I updated the option to show a specific image to show on the viewport (i.e. for the textured decal view) and selected the colormap .tif and only then did the model actually showed in the direct x view.

Same probs, can’t get any real time shaders to work. Object just disappears. Any fixes? Using vista+gefo8800gts512+xsi701

Very good info here.

I just wanted to add to this.  While using ultimapper to generate your maps. It is possible to have xsi make you a real time shader to preview whatever maps you are trying to bake.  On the ultimapper tab, just hit the “make preview” button. Then the shader will show up on the material manager window.  Apply this to your mesh.
