Hi,

Can someone explain / clarify whether a batch license node refers to a computer as a complete entity or whether it refers to the individual processors within a computer/computers please?

A little background: We are a team of three people who have been tasked to create some artwork for our organisation. We are at a stage where we need to begin rendering our work, and we do not have the option of rendering overnight. Our setup is 3 licensed copies of XSI (1xstandalone and 2xnetworked/linked), running on 3 quad core XPS 730 Dell units (without hyperthreading).

As we understand it, each XSI license comes with 5 batch licenses, so collectively we have 15 batch licenses. If this is correct, can we setup a render farm with 15 individual computers, or do the licenses apply to individual processors - where a further quad core computer would effectively take four of our licenses.

Any help you can provide on this would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
Ady
