Umm, I did a scene with a staff and lit it with GI and everything was fine . After i adjusted some things , it turned up horribly wrong . Like this :

2qitpit.png

(I am shooting 10.000 photons with an intensity of 10.000. The accuracy is 500 , the photon search radius is 2.5 and the Merge factor is 1)

And even worse with Final Gather, it’s like nothing is working anymore.

(I am shooting 500 rays and the Points is set to 15 with the mode : Automatic)

What is the problem ? Why isn’t it working now unlike earlier ?

P.S.: Here’s my previous render with working illumination : http://community.softimage.com/showthread.php?p=9774

Please help !

upload the scene.. if you dont want to share the staff and so delete them and save as something else, just keep the box and lights

check the shader on cylinder8, the photon node, thats what causing the bright spots.
turn down the specularity on that node.
if the render is to bright and red, turn down the intensity of the photons of spot1.

on this i only changed the photon node specularity on the shader for cylinder8, nothing else.

edit: rendered without FG and caustics, only GI
