Hey guys, anyone what can tell me why this scenen renders so slow I would be very greatful. I cannot seem to figure this out for the life of me.

I can render just the vien and it is fast and I can render the blood cell and it is fast but If I render the scene that has them in it an animating it seems like the blood cells totoally bog everything down and it take like 15 minutes a fram on a 8x3.2GHz MacPro that is Running Vista X64 with 8GB of ram.

here is a picture of the scene from Camera1.
cells.jpg

As you can see it is not that complex. I set up something similar in Maya and it is lightning fast by comparison I do not understand why XSI is having such a hard time with this.

here is the scene file if someone would care to take a look at it and tell me what I’m doing wrong here.

Thanx in advance,

Cow

Try recreating your shaders - those seem to be horribly messed up - it takes a long time to render here, too, but when I recreate your shaders from scratch it only takes seconds to render.

Btw get proper UVs on your Meshes and try using the bumpmap_generator node instead of the bumpmap one
