How come Autodesk took out all the render channels that were in the most previous version of Softimage ? Is there any way to install them back in without doing it the manual way ?

I see the same render channels in 2010sp1.

Maybe your install is messed up. Try runonce.bat.

I ran runonce.exe from /System32 within Windows and after I run the program, it just says:

This application was unable to start correctly

I can see some of the render channels but not all as I could in Softimage 7.x

Try runonce.bat.

I don’t see any difference in the list of render channels in 7.5 and 2010.

I found that command and ran it.  Now there is an update, I see all the default render channels that I saw in Softimage 7.x in a new scene but in my scene that I’m working on, I don’t see all the channels.

Also when I try to Start Softimage 2010 I get No Interactive License Found: Run in Stand Alone YES or NO (in which I always choose YES and Softimage loads) so I read on the Softimage Wiki and tried everything that is mentioned and yet that pop up still occurs !

Try merging the problem scene into a new, empty scene.

What is your renderer?  Are you using Mental Ray or have you installed something else?

RE: No interactive network license available

What is the output of Perform Status Enquiry ?

Are there any errors in &38;TEMP&38;\SoftimageLicense.log ?

What is the value of ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE?
Open a Softimage command prompt and run this command: set adsk
That will print the value of ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE.

Are the ports 2080 and 27000-27009 open? Check your firewall.

What is your OS?

When I run a Query on the local host, is mentions: SPM-Daemon is running on ‘localhost’

There is No Firewall enabled, the OS is Win7 x64

This is the result after running ADSK from a Softimage Command Prompt as you suggested:

Environment variable adsk not defined

When I follow what is mentioned on this page (http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=14092874&linkID=12544120) I don’t get a diagnostic message at start-up.

Ok, let’s back up a step.

Do you have a standalone license for Softimage 2010 or a network license?

SPM licensing used by XSI 7.01 and earlier.

This is very odd, but when I put the Softimage Icon in the Taskbar in Windows7 x64 it tells me there is no interactive license.  When I have the Softimage Icon on the desktop it just loads normally.

You cannot run batfiles from the taskbar in W7. You can however from the desktop.
The shortcut of SI points to the setenv.bat file.

Have a look at XSIBase, there’s a discussion on how to ‘fix’ this issue in W7.
