Howdy,

Anyone know of any XSI-specific tutorials relating to efficient practices for
texturing game items...particularly environments like buildings, for example
(interior and exterior).

I’d like to know some efficient tricks for applying repeating textures to clusters
and just good general workflow techniques to maximize texture usage for game
engines (like Ogre or some such indie engine).

Doesn’t matter if it’s free tutorials or pay...just looking for some good resources of
info. :)

Thanks for any assistance.

hmmm...so nobody has seen anything like this?

How about something that I might be able to adapt? I’m very
interested in techniques for efficient UVs and game assets (non-character),
but haven’t run across any just focusing on game-engine-related.

cheers.

I was waiting for you to ask for non XSI ones ^_^
They are very easy to adapt though, since they focus more on the texturing than the 3d application.

thanks for those links, Cryrid.

I’d seen a couple of them, but not the others. I also found some good info here:

Still interested in more if there’s additional links people have come across (It would
sure be nice if there were dedicated XSI tutorials relating to this).

The best resource I have found is in a book. This book talks about how to do textures for UT and the way games use them.

I know it is not specific to XSI but it will help you with many cases.
There are some XSI related to HL-2 video tutorials over at:

I hope this helps.
