Hello,

I just installed my network licensed 2012 and obtained a .lic from the autodesk site.
I’m guessing if I now point my LMTools to that new .lic I won’t be able to run 2011 anymore.
If I want to be still able to run my 2011 installation, should I append the data from the new .lic to the old one? And how should I do that (I mean; which lines to copypaste where)?

thanks,
Jasper

I put my 2012.lic at the same place as my 2011.lic and just used LMTool to load the new 2012 license. I was able to work with both 2011 and 2012 no problem. If your on subscription, your generated license should include 2012 and 2011.

If you are on Subscription, your 2012 license includes licenses for 2012, 2011, 2010, and 7.5.

Thanks,

I didn’t realize subscription means it’s already taken care of in the license file. Also, I had to restart my server to make it switch to the new lic - using the ‘save service’ and then ‘reread license file’ buttons in LMTools didn’t do that. Is that how it’s supposed to work?

Personally, I always select the Force Server Shutdown check box, Stop Server, and then re-Start the Server.
