Hi -

If you have recently won or received a complimentary Academic license at a recent Softimage Event here are the steps on how to activate your new license for XSI 7:

You would have received a card with a validation code on it. The code will allow you to download your software and activate your license.

HOW TO LICENSE YOUR SOFTIMAGE PRIZE

Step 1. Create a Softimage Web Account
Create a new Softimage Web Account

If you already have a Softimage Web Account, you can skip this step.

Step 2. Validate your Coupon Code
Validate your Coupon Code

You will need to login using the Softimage Web Account you just created.

Step 3. Install and License XSI
Download the latest version of the XSI setup here.
Launch the setup program.
When prompted to select the location of your license server, choose “Local License Server”.
Choose “Download and install Licenses from the web”.
After the setup files have been installed you will be prompted for your Softimage user account information.
Enter your username and password, and click “Validate”.
Select the license available and click “Assign”.
Your license is now installed! You can now run XSI 7.

For more information about activating your license, visit the Support section of the Softimage Wiki: http://softimage.wiki.avid.com/index.php/Category:Support

Enjoy your prize!!

Hi Jennifer,

About these Student License prizes..  Are they limited to one year?  Also, since I already own commercial license of 6.0 ADV, could I pass my activation card onto someone else (non student/educator) to use for learning/non-commercial work?

Hi,

got my XSI academic! It rocks!
I try to download “The Artist’s guide to XSI”, entered my username and password, then reg. code – and all i get is empty page!
Does academic license allow me to download this training at all?

Thanks!
