I bought Softimage 7.5 from Avid. I bought one year subscription from Avid.  Avid sold Softimage to Autodesk. When I downloaded Softimage 2010, the license didn’t work. After about six emails to Autodesk, they say to contact the store where I bought the software. That store doesn’t exist, as it is now Autodesk, but they continue to send the same message. The license and product code will not activate. I ran LMUTILS and I get the error code FLEXnet Licensing error:-125,147. I’ve deinstalled Autodesk license utility and Softimage and reinstalled. I don’t know if this is left over from Autodesk Autocad 2004 which is on my computer, because I’ve found lots of issues with the same message related to AutoCAD. Where would I find a solution? Thanks.

Autodesk has given up offering to help and suggested I post on this forum

I dont understand.. Softimage was sold to Autodesk in version 7.0, you couldnt have purchased 7.5 from AVID. You should check your local reseller to see what happend.

Then I’ve owned Softimage since version 7. Either way, there is no local reseller, because it was bought from Avid. Basically what Autodesk is saying is that they are not responsible and since there is no local reseller, they will not solve the installation problem. They said post this on the forum. This was my fear when I heard Avid sold Softimage to Autodesk. I’ve owned Maya in the past, and had some misgivings, which seem to be coming to bear.

Addendum: eight times uninstalling and reinstalling in various different orders the license server and Softimage with and without virus checker it finally works. The computer is Dell Precision M90 with NVIDIA 3500 card.

Sounds like a misunderstanding.
You seem all set now, but to clarify how to install licenses, we have this self-help information http://softimage.wiki.softimage.com/index.php/Setting_up_a_network_license

If you have Subscription you can open a service request at the Subscription Center.

If you don’t have Subscription, then you still get 30 days of Up and Ready support for your purchase.

Either of the above will get you in touch with the Softimage technical support team, who are the sames guys you dealt with in the past (eg for 7.0 and earlier issues).
