i have the hat parent to the Head, so when it move the head, the hat will move with it.
i set Cloth Operator to it, and Pin some points (all around the head)

and i set Gravity to affect the rest of the hat,
but when i move the head, they gravity is not pulling -Y as it suppose is following the direction of the head,
(Gravity is not parent to the head)
and i still get the weird motion, any ideas, about what i am setting it wrong?

thanks.

Oddly enough, in Syflex, the gravity is relative to the cloth’s transform.
You can try compensating the gravity direction under the syGravity node or simply unparent your cloth object, which is what I always do.

i decided to change to Soft body Dynamics to get some bouncing,
but yea that is extremely weird that XSI set as gravity according the parent object instead living the gravity as pulling -X unless you rotate it.

now i have to find another way to use Dynamics, since i was constraining the Hat with the Top vertebra to be able to make him remove the hat with a hand.

-Well I would not rely parenting or constraints that are not dynamic (aka not syflex’s which are). The gravity design is all syflex in this system -not XSI’s. This has advantages and disadvantages like anything else.

For the ‘hat trick’ I would have used a syflex pin constraint and animate in off/on for when the hand picks it up.
