I ‘d start with lots of hair segments, and some “Shape Jitter” on the hair guides. Then apply high frequency kink on the hair operator. But I believe for a good starting point, the key may be the hair guides themselves.

Now in this particular case, animating those finger movements will be the real challenge ;)

It’s just for an image. I don’t want to animate them…

Thanks.

It’t possible to get this effect,
try to tweak the frizz parameters, you should also change the hair geometry approximation to subdivide the rendered hairs

Hi Dios,

I agree with you. Anyway, If you are with XSI v7, that’s possible to do with ICE. Here is screenshot of my ICE compound, designed just for long, curled hair. It’s based on compounds that are already available on this site, but this one can do ‘grouping’, needed for this type of hair. It’s ready for publishing, I tested it a lot. At this stage, I only need some time for writing the help file.
Modeling is easiest part here, all what you see, follows just one NURBS surface, but there are a lot of parameters, even all of them are easy to understand.
So if you can wait to, let’s say, this weekend - be my guest :)
