I have a cached simulation particles cloud that I am reading into a clean scene. (no simulation just reading the cache files). Is it possible to create a new empty cloud and duplicate some particles from the cached cloud based on a test (a proximity to geometry test in this case). Essentially I want to suck particles from the cached cloud towards geometry ... I figure I have to make a new cloud to do this. I would love to use move towards goal, but the self.emitlocation within the compound is red because there is no emitter on a cached cloud. And the Self.CollisionLocation inside that compound is also invalid. I need to do rag doll and floppy ears types of things using bones on a single mesh. In know that these things are usually done with separate rigid body objects connected by joints but I'd like to use a single object mesh and be able to rig it with bones that have limits set on them and are controlled by dynamics (springs perhaps?). In addition, I'd like to be able to apply IK for a few frames and then have the dynamics kick in at a certain frame (for football tackles when the player can become a rag doll after running and getting tackled etc.). Are these sorts of things possible with the above mentioned apps? If so which is easiest to set up? The nature of the plugin is more for engineers so it may not be so interesting for artists, but in all cases it is a Softimage plugin so I think this is a good place to announce it. The name of the plugin is [b]Intelligent Construction Equipment Planner[/b] or for short (ICE-Planner - sorry for the confusing title with the Interactive Creative Env of Softimage). As the name reflects, this plugin is mainly developed for planning the motion of construction equipment in 3D simulated environments. As a result, the equipment will be able to do its work as an autonomous robot. This is useful for doing construction tasks in hazard environment (space, mining, ... etc.) Currently the results are only applied on the equipment 3D model in Softimage. However I’m considering interfacing it with hardware as part of my future work.
