Maya/Softimage Bitmap Texture Library

I know this seems like an easy question, but I can't seem to find images for textures in the Maya or Softimage folder. I was wondering if Maya and/or Softimage ship with a Maps Folders with images for textures similar to 3ds max. Can anyone tell me where to find them if they are available? Thanks Eric

Writing .mov files with Vista 64

Hi, We have recently upgraded to Softimage 2010, using Vista 64 and now we are having a problem writing out .mov files from Softimage. One of the guys in our studio mentioned that we need to have Quicktime Pro installed in order to write out .mov files but we never had this problem before with 7.5 on XP (32 or 64 bit). Is this really the case? Is there any workaround? We're in South Africa and purchasing even a single license of quicktime pro is a major hassle as they do not seem to sell it to this area. You have to have a European credit card. Which is unbelievable!! Cheers, Mike

Help with Envelopes

I need some help. I am working with XSI Mod Tool 7.5 that is free for XNA Indie developers. I am trying to use the Biped model that is in the samples folder. I have to make some changes to it in order to export it as a DTS model for use with the Torque X 3D engine. The problem that I am having is that the Eye meshes don't move along with the deformers. They do rotate, but don't move. So when I get the model to the point I want it and animate it the eyes stay where they started at. Another thing is that the eyes do rotate, they just don't move. How do I fix this? I am a newbie to this, so need baby steps. Thanks....

How to use Reference Models?

I'm looking in the help guide and I don't understand how to use reference models. Can you have a main scene with all the reference models in-bedded, and then edit the individual model without closing the main scene? It's a pain to switch to the model file, change it, and then re-open the main scene again. What I'm trying to do is build a game level to export to Torque 3D. I want all the assets in the main scene, positioned correctly, BUT if I want to make changes to a particular model I don't want to have to close the main scene. Thanks!

In Softimage 7.5,the programe texture shader like "snow,terrain，marble，rock" have a problem that the texture is changed and diffrent of last time to render,by every time after softimage restart. but no problem in softimage 7.0 or 7.01... thanks! I write the bad English...

Changing Paths in XSI Mod Tool 7.5

Can someone tell me how to change the default paths for XSI Mod Tool 7.5? When I go to the preferences in the Data Management section the User Path, Sample Project Path and Current Project Path are all read only. I want to change these so that when I get the open file dialogs and such they default to where I actually have all my stuff on my computer.
