Strange question but i find this on the net...Pricing and Availability

Japanese in April 2010. The Autodesk suggested retail price (SRP) for an
Autodesk Softimage 2011 stand-alone license is US$2,995.* The price to
upgrade from Softimage 2010 to Softimage 2011 is $1,495*Ý SRP. Autodesk
Subscription with Gold Support is available for purchase simultaneously
with the product or upgrade purchase for $795 SRP per year.

Ý The price to upgrade from Softimage Advanced 2010 to Softimage 2011 is
$295 SRP.

Yes just 295$ to upgrade from Softimage 2010 advenced to Softimage 2011 maybe because now every body upgrade to the advenced version ?
Or it just a bad typo ?

I think what that means is this:

- If you have Softimage Advanced 2010 and you are not on Subscription, then you can upgrade to a network license of Softimage 2011 for $295.

For pricing:

- A standalone license of Softimage 2011 costs $2995.
- A network license of Softimage 2011 will cost about $750 more than a standalone license.

2010 network licenses under subscription will be upgraded to 2011 network licenses.

So if you have a network license for Softimage 2010 or Softimage Advanced 2010, you will get a network license of Softimage 2011.

A network license of Softimage 2011 includes 5 Batch licenses.

Ok, if this pans out, as a Network license owner of Softimage 2010 on maintenance, I will soon have some batch licenses to put on my (up until now) Lightwave render Farm.

If this happens, am I going to need some render control software, or does Softimage 2011 come with some included (maybe Backburner!)?

If not, can anyone recommend a low cost piece of software?
