Helli,
I have been looking into compiling a 64bit version but a key requirement has hampered my progress: I lack a 64 bit machine on which I can install XSI-64. From what I understand I need XSI-64 for the libs.
Coupled with this, ScriptEd has been written with the help of wxWidgets. Although ‘they’ say that I’d just need to recompile to 64bit, having not done that, I can’ say how stable it will be. But again, the major issue is the lack of a 64bit machine :(

Cheers,
Sajjad

If anyone has wxWidgets/XSI running for 64bit compiling. Please let me know, I’d be happy to email you the sourcecode for a 64 bit version of ScriptEd

Hi Helli,
Unfortunately no one has contacted me yet. However, I will be ordering a 64bit machine very soon (within the week).

I’m not entirely sure how the 64bit compile would work because I haven’t done it yet :) If you dont’ want to wait for a bit more and give compiling a shot, read on:

What you’ll need to do:
1. Download wxWidgets (http://www.wxwidgets.org - it’s free) and compile it’s libraries for 64bit (they just ship the source code). The best way to check whether all the libraries have been compiled properly is to open up 5-9 accompanying sample projects and compile them too.
2. Configure your compiler so that it can read the XSI and wxWidget libraries. This is usually a bit of a pain as XSI requires it’s own environment variables to be loaded and I have no idea whether the 64b version wants something extra. To check whether the XSI libs are loading fine load up the XSI SDK sample and recompile that.

When the above is working it’s just a matter of hitting the compile button to get the ScriptEd dll file.

Once again, if you want to have a stab at this, let me know and I’ll mail you the source code. Otherwise there will be a slight wait.

Thanks for the offer!
Cheers,

I never compiled anything for XSI so maybe I’ll just wait :D

Thx in advance.

Hi Christian,
That’s brilliant!

Do you have wxWidgets running/compiling as well?

Cheers
