Hi Hirazi,
Please ensure that in File > Plugin Manager ScriptEd is not visible anywhere. You may also want to check it in the list which pops up on File > Add-on > Uninstall
If the above are as expected i.e. there is no sign of ScriptEd within XSI. You also need to ensure that ScriptEd isnt’ present on the file system. Sometimes doing File > Add-on > Uninstall doesn’t erase the addon from the disk. This creates a problem when you want to re-install.
If none of the above works, as a last resort please peform a case-sensitive search for *ScriptEd*.dll, if it’s present in any directory, delete that directory. Do ensure that you only delete the ScriptEd directory.
Also, I’ve addressed the layout glitch being discussed above. If you wait 10 minutes I’ll have uploaded the fixed add-on. I will post when the upload is finished.
Please let me know if you manage to solve your problem.

Streaker,
I’ve uploaded a new version of the addon here (right click ‘save as..’) This should fix the layout grey rectangle issue. Please delete all files related to ScriptEd before updating, otherwise you may have issues.
If you don’t mind, could you please verify that the layout issue has been resolved at your end as well? (I will then change it’s status on the bug list).
Hirazi,
Forgot to add, if you’re now installing on x64 please ensure you have the VC++ Redistributable for x64 installed. Otherwise, what I posted earlier should work.
The new version of the addon with the fixed layout has now been uploaded here (right click ‘save as..’.
As before, please let me know if your problem is resolved.
Many thanks again.

Whoa… you are fast :) Go to watch movie episode and when go back - it’s fixed. Yes, it works perfectly fine now.
Thank you, I just loved ScriptEd :)

The only reason I can update quickly is because it’s the weekend :)
Thanks for the verification, I appreciate it.

Hi again,
I’ve updated the add-on with bug #3 fixed. This really was a show stopper for me.
There is also another bug fix which would corrupt the prefs.ini file. If the prefs.ini file is corrupted, then as soon as ScriptEd is started XSI will crash.
This update is highly recommended
Download here (right click ‘save as..’)
Please remember to delete/uninstall the previous version completely.
Now I can get on with the to-do list :)

Just to let you know: installing seems to work now (very last version).
Hadn’t had time to thoroughly test it yet, though!
You could add a “dual screen” layout to your addon,
simply change the ‘nbscreen="1"’-part on top of your .xsily-File to ‘nbscreen="2"’.
Does the trick for me, so it will probably work for others as well...;)

Hi HB,
Thanks for the layout tip. I don’t have a dual monitor setup (yet) hence no dual layout :-) I’m glad the install works now. I think once the F1 help issue is resolved, ScriptEd will be almost ready.
Everyone,
The 2nd post of this thread has a to-do list which I’m working on. Please post any ideas you may have which will improve your experience of ScriptEd.
Cheers

Oops, I forgot: a distinct name (i.e. “dual_ScriptEd") in the “name"-field on the same line of the .xsily-file also helps!

Perhaps it’s time to get another monitor :)
The context sensitive help stuff is driving me insane. I’m fairly certain SI uses more than the htmlhelp library that is usually used to access .chm (the format of the help file) stuff. Keyword lookup is case-sensitive, however SI does a case-insensitive search as well (may be they have some kind of a lookup file).
I can’t get keyword lookup to work the way SI use it, i.e. if you type ‘getprim’ and press F1, a window pops up giving you a choice of topics with ‘getprim’ in it e.g. getprim, getprimcamera, getprimlattice etc. All I’ve managed is for the help to open and for the index panel (on the left) to have the first index entry with ‘getprim’ highlighted.
Having said all this, I have zero experience with .chm files (which is a major part of the problem) and MSDN doesn’t elaborate very well on it. Rant over.
If anyone has any ideas about how the devious htmlhelp library works, please post :-) (I will gladly accept anon emails/posts/pms from SI/AD staff)
Notwithstanding the F1 issue, the next ScriptEd release will have code comment/uncomment functionality and a ‘way’ (probably a slider) to change the background colour of the text area from white to a darker shade of grey.
Thanks again everyone for your feedback.
