I have been a Stitcher user on the Mac since version 3.0 up through the last Realviz version (5.xx or unlimited I think). I just upgraded to the Autodesk StitcherUnlimited 2009 and am having problems with QTVR authoring. I am trying to use the authoring controls to set up QTVR parameters and I find that the settings don’t seem to take effect consistently. I’ve tried numerous times to set the pan and tilt parameters and min/max/default FOV. However, whatever I do, the default view is always a much smaller FOV and not where I set it in the main viewer window or authoring window. And no matter what I do in the authoring controls, the default view that opens in quicktime is the same for every QTVR rendering I create. Any clues that will unlock the mystery of this tool would be appreciated.
On the other hand, I may shift my workflow to AutoPanoPro and use PureTools or Pano2VR to set the QTVR parameters - if anyone has an opinion on a “best workflow” to go from stitching to publishing in a web gallery please share it.
I found the instructions in the tutorial more informative than the user guide - as they gave some clues about when to lock a value and when not to, as well as a warning that only the window size can be set from manual mode.
I also can’t believe that the keyboard shortcuts for the various pan/tilt/zoom functions haven’t been included in the menus - but that’s a different topic!

Use Stitcher 2009 to render out to spherical JPEG then use Pano2VR to author your final images. It’s the best workflow there is.
