Hello
Since the major updates of Stichter by Autodesk, there is no batch rendering longer available.
Are there any plans form Autodesk to get this, VERY important feature back?
Why has ist been canceled? It’s so neccessary for a PRO to work with it.
In the meantime,… is there any workaround you can suggest to render several panoramic images, without
sitting in front of my mac watching it to render?
thank you

Hi there, unfortunately I have not managed a workaround yet but I am investigating the use of a MAC automation tool.
I will keep you informed of any success I have with this.
I second your concern here. I carry out multiple panoramas at a time and was in the habit of preparing 20-30 to run overnight. This has rendered the latest version useless in my opinion as I have defaulted back to my 5.5 version to avail of batch. This is now not a tool for professionals but merely for hobbyists. There is absolutely no mention of this having been removed in any of the supporting documentation and from what I can ascertain, it is unlawful to remove such important features without any mention.
What is most annoying is that there doesn’t appear to be any channel to complain about this directly, and as the resellers of AutoDesk products are not allowed to sell this product they are not prepared to field any queries regarding it.
This is a useless product for professionals and I would demand my money back if I could ascertain how. Bring back Realviz.

Hello
Yes.. this is so poor, canceling the batch rendering is so stupid....
But now here is my work around…
since stitcher is an old school 32 bit applications which doesn’t support multicores and more than 2 GB of RAM,…
i simple copy the stitcher application…
open it 20 times. with different projects. open all render dialogs, make my settings....
den click render, switch, click render, switch, and so on…
now it renders 20 panoramas a the same time.....
yes,.. such a nice work around, *ggg * makes me feeling 15 years ago… where software was not professionall in any way.
hooray to autodesk. very pro. cheers.

Dumb question, I know, how were you able to open multiple apps of Stitcher? I am using Mac OS X-not Snow Leopard.
Thanks-Stephani
I am dying here without the batch render!

i think he means he made multiple copies of the app, and then launched them all simultaneously ?

yeah, autodesk removed batch rendering with no notice or explanation, last working version w/ batch render was 5.6.2 i think
autodesk also repeatedly ignored questions posted in the old forums about why this critical pro feature was removed, or when it might return -
best workaround for batch rendering panos is to use PTGUI, excellent support, responsive developer, and new version actually include new features, bug fixes, etc !!!!!
stitcher is fine for hobbyists, 1 or 2 panos a day, but no way suited to any kind of volume workflow

at this point, PTGUI, Autopano, & even the freeware Hugin all offer batch rendering, leaving autodesk stitcher all by itself in the kiddie section -
http://area.autodesk.com/for...g-boy-pants-if-it-wanted/
i cant imagine recommending anybody purchase this software to at this point, as it seems pretty clear that autodesk has abandoned all support and development of this product, with a “no customer support after 30 days policy”, no support for multiple processors, & totally ignoring all customer queries about batch rendering for over a year now !
see also this post, this has been the story for a while now -
http://ivrpa.org/blog/495/realviz_stitcher_vs_ptgui_1
a software company not participating in their own forums & totally ignoring customer feedback is a very clear sign of lack of interest in their own product, at least there are well supported alternatives.....
