I’m currently using Stitcher to put together HDR spheres from sections I’ve created in Photomatix Pro, and I’m having a few problems with the final files created using Smart blending.

The file is all aligned correctly but I get noticable ‘steps’ in the tone/exposure of things like skys and repetitive textures, when really there shouldn’t be. The steps can occur in areas that are in fact the middle of the a segment being stitched! They are always seen as a hard vertical edge.

The problem disappears if I use Morph but then the alignment can sometimes be off even if I’ve spent a while on the shooting making sure nothing moves on the camera/tripod.

I don’t have either of these problems when using normal files only the HDR’s.

Anyone else noticed the same problem?

I’m using a MBP with Tiger, Canon 5d with 15mm FE and a 360precision head.
