I have been trying to get the AutoPAN to work with a QTVR without success.  I go to QTVR scripting, select one of the AutoPan options and select a speed and render.  After rendering, no Auto PAN.  Any thoughts?

i usually just output an equirectangular tiff from my stitching app, then convert to qtvr or flash after a bit of photoshop, fix nadir, etc -

try Pano2VR for rendering final qrvr or flash, including auto-rotation is easy, works every time, no mystery - Pano2VR also lets you convert between equirectangular & cube faces, add custom nav buttons, logo, etc - very handy -

or use old edition - Pano2QTVR - http://gardengnomesoftware.com/pano2qtvr.php

it’s available yet… free version (without enhanced features).

*but WinPC only

When I did Quicktime VRs I used to use something called Pleinpot (it’s French) for autorotation. It was much more flexible and reliable than what’s available in Quicktime. Generally, the Flash players, e.g. FPP handle this kind of thing much better.

Sam, equirectangular to cubic faces in Stitcher is very straightforward, no need for another app.

So… does ANYbody have an answer to this?
Without going out and buying ANOTHER virtual tour making software?
I, too want AutoPan to work the way it is suppose to, but cannot find an answer to this problem. Is there like a forum moderator or are we just on our own?

seems we are on our own here, no response for months from the sticher team to any of the issues brought up here, not a good sign, maybe it is end of life…

speaking of EOL, Apple has removed support for QTVR in the latest Quicktime X included with 10.6 Snow Leopard, so unfortunately, QTVR seems pretty much over with at this point -

the current quicktime plugin for safari in snow leopard still plays qtvrs in browser, and snow leopard allows an optional install of quicktime 7 so you can still create & play QTVR .mov files, but recent updates have broken a lot of qtvrs former functionality, and the formats future is uncertain to unlikely -

flash is the future of panos on the web…

best options are

Pano2VR - http://gardengnomesoftware.com/pano2vr/
KRPano - http://www.krpano.com/
Flash Panorama Player (FPP) - http://flashpanoramas.com/player/
Flashificator, a gui for FPP - http://flashificator.com/
Panosalado - http://panosalado.com/

all of the above have excellent community forums & support, and are frequently updated, apart from FPP, which is quite overdue for an update, and the developer has been a bit inattentive for a while now, but the forum users provide excellent support…

Pano2VR is the only one of these that has a gui, (apart from FPP+Flashificator) and creates stand alone swf files from images or mov files, all the others i listed only display images or mov rendered in another app, and are swf+xml that require hand coding, but are incredibly versatile -

this page compares the quality of most available panorama players, flash, java, shockwave, qtvr, etc - http://www.panoramaphotographer.com/comparisons/web/pan0-comparisons.html
