I updated Quicktime on Windows XP and Stitcher 2009 SP1 bombed with issues with a ORALITE.dll (if I remember corectly) error
Uninstalling QT and putting the previous version back in got Stitcher working again.

Have otheres seen this?
Is there a fix from Autodesk?

Terry

No replies?
I guess we are now stuck with an obsolete, unsuported product

Terry
The issue isn’t with Stitcher its Quicktime like Sam says.

Yes Stitcher uses something from QT to produce images

I had the same problem outputting QTVR from iPIX Interactive Studio and at the recomendation of their support people a the time, I uninstalled and reinstalled QT and it was fine.

If you can, go back to the older version of QT and start looking at another stitching program

im not sure if autodesk treats maya users like this, but it is pretty obvious that they do not care about user probs at all, this is just about the worst level of customer support i’ve ever seen

this product has been dead for a few years now, no updates except to add autodesk branding, no bug fixes, and NO RESPONSE from autodesk on any of these issues, just like when it was realviz…

btw, im a mac guy myself, and apple has removed QTVR support form the latest quicktime X included w/ snow leopard, (QT7 is included as an optional install, and the safari browser plug in still works) so QTVR is pretty much a legacy format as well at this point -

if you can output equirectangular tiffs or somesuch, look into Pano2VR as a way to create qtvr and stand alone swf panos -

I appreciate the reply Sam but the issue is that NOTHING in Stitcher now works with the updated version of Quichtime for Windows.
You even get errors when you load your images into Stitcher!.
QT must be deeply embedded withing Stitcher.

The real killer is that this product is so expensive compared to the competition (PTGUI & AutoPano Pro)
The author of PTGUI has an active forum and he is proactive in his support of his customers.

The support from Realviz before the Americans took over actually existed and they showed some interest in their paying customers but the new American owners don’t give a damn.
They won’t be getting any of my money in the future.
Why should they?

Haven’t they heard of the recession?

what really surprises me is that a company the size of autodesk could have such a negligent attitude towards paying customers, and how bad this makes the entire company look - support under realviz was pretty bad, but autodesk seems to have the worst support environment/culture i’ve ever seen in a major software company

adobe, microsoft, apple, google, all seem to find the time to respond to customers, so i don’t think it is a usa thing, we’re not all this bad :)

the only way i’ve gotten any response from autodesk is by posting to the autodesk facebook page, not a joke - the AD facebook team does not seem so adverse to responding, and they actually helped me get a response from the stitcher folks, who seem to live in an underground bunker w/ no internet access, and have more important concerns than updating this software, responding to customers, etc

judging by the way autodesk has handled all this. i will be avoiding all autodesk products in the future, and hoping they do not buy any more products i use
