Unfortuunately I had been using combustion and got use to being able to render out a .mov or .avi to be played by anyone. With Toxik taking combustions place, any ideas for the best way to create a .mov or similar from a image sequence? Is there any free software out there? Thanks 2009-11-21T08:46:48+01:00 Practice Footage http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-toxik-combustion/general-discussion/practice-footage/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-toxik-combustion/general-discussion/practice-footage/page-last/#When:21:05:19Z I downloaded the Toxik demo, and am trying to learn it. Is there a location on the autodesk website to find practise footage, like greenscreen footage, backgrounds, etc. in a format that is compatible with Toxik? Also, are there any HDR files available to download and practise with? Apart from Autodesk, are there any other resources to find practice footage for editing and compositing? For example, uncut footage with slates would be great, with multiple takes, etc. exactly as they would come off a camera roll, enough to create, say, a small scene. 2009-11-20T21:05:19+01:00 can i navigate in toxik like maya? http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-toxik-combustion/general-discussion/can-i-navigate-in-toxik-like-maya/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-toxik-combustion/general-discussion/can-i-navigate-in-toxik-like-maya/page-last/#When:17:38:17Z hi, I new with toxik , I saw the navigation is like photoshop, I think it would be easier if we can navigate like Maya. 2009-11-20T17:38:17+01:00 Creating a source folder for imported images with Toxic... help http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-toxik-combustion/general-discussion/creating-a-source-folder-for-imported-images-with-toxic-help/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-toxik-combustion/general-discussion/creating-a-source-folder-for-imported-images-with-toxic-help/page-last/#When:16:04:43Z I have to swap between Mac and PC quite a bit with the application which is causing some conflicts with loading footage. This is because the path names are different. For example: PC - H:/Comp Mac - Volumes/Drive/Comp With Eyeon Fusion all I had to do was write: Comp:/ Where ever the fusion comp was saved I could use as a starting point to load in the footage. I could take the entire folder footage and all, move it to a new location without messing up the path location. Is there anyway to do this in Toxic? It's really killing me having to re-import all the footage every time I switch computers, or change path locations. 2009-11-19T16:04:43+01:00 New Toxik Video Tutorial http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-toxik-combustion/general-discussion/new-toxik-video-tutorial/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-toxik-combustion/general-discussion/new-toxik-video-tutorial/page-last/#When:17:54:43Z Hey, I have a new video tutorial that I created for modo users on basic compositing. In part two of this series, I use Toxik to composite a CG element into a locked down background plate. I thought that some users might find this interesting so I wanted to post the link here. The video is free and takes an in-depth look at compositing with a shot with Toxik. I tried to upload these videos to The Area as a tutorial asset, but I couldn't get the files to upload, so I thought I'd post it here. http://the3dninja.com/blog/?page_id=84 Topics in this video include: • Establishing a Linear Workflow within Toxik and After Effects • Compositing the Robot Layer into the background plate • Dealing with Premultiplied Alphas • Color correcting using render outputs from modo as masks • Creating specular bloom from the specular pass Enjoy! I am looking for a solution for something I was told to try in Photoshop and it looked awful. I have a 6 second small QuickTime movie featuring a cow in the front moving from right to left. The deliverable is an FLV with alpha. They need the solo cow with alpha so it can be keyed in Flash. I imported the footage, went to Operators - Mask - Draw Mask and used the Bezier Mask tool with Animate on. I advance each frame and was tweaking the mask to feature my solo cow. When I open it up now, I can't seem to find the bezier points to continue. This may be a 3 part question: 1: - Is using a mask like this a good solution? 2: - How do I get those bezier points to display again? 3: If I successfully mask the image and render the file, how do I export this allowing me to create an FLV with Alpha? Any suggestions or alternate approaches are greatly appreciated. Please keep them simple, as I am pretty new to this fairly old version of Combustion. Thanks in advance. - shorescores 2009-11-06T18:21:50+01:00 Looking for a diolate tool fot TOXIK? http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-toxik-combustion/general-discussion/looking-for-a-diolate-tool-fot-toxik/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-toxik-combustion/general-discussion/looking-for-a-diolate-tool-fot-toxik/page-last/#When:05:25:16Z hey guys, Unless I am blind, has anyone made a diolate tool like the minmax tool in combustion with the PXL tool? Just wanted to express my opinion in the hope someone will tell me there's something wrong i might be doing. I've been using Toxik for a week or so now, trying to get ahold of it. Just testing it out on my free time. I've used it on a Mac mainly, but tried on a Windows machine as well. And I love the interface. Really love the way the software is smartly organized and easy to customize. But.... It's so slow! If i compare it to aftereffects for example (same footage) playback is probably 20x faster in AE. Apply a few effects/adjustments and it's still solid in AE (or nuke or shake or combustion). But Toxik? Struggles for seconds to get past the 5th frame! I mean i understand there could be some differences in performance.. but this is so slow! I load up a short JPEG sequence (640x480) and it still choke to play through on the first go. Which happens with ease with AE, for ex. Yeah, I'm not on a Raid... but come on AE isn't getting anything extra either. Better workflow i have ever tried, but performance is frustrating. Please. Tell i'm doing something wrong! :( 2009-11-03T05:11:53+01:00 Toxik/Backburner FAIL http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-toxik-combustion/general-discussion/toxikbackburner-fail/page-last/ http://area.autodesk.com/forum/autodesk-toxik-combustion/general-discussion/toxikbackburner-fail/page-last/#When:09:21:39Z I'm just wondering if anyone else is getting this error in the backburner monitor when you try to render Toxik comps with backburner: Process exited with error code (1) on 'Stack trace' Simple comps render fine. I'm only running into this with big comps. My render nodes have the same amount of ram and procs as my workstation so I don't think I'm overloading them. Thanks!
