We had an Easter family dinner on the weekend. I commented that my friend Brett sent me this cool link of Spinal Tap playing Big Bottom with about a gazillion bass players. Being a bass player, and a Spinal Tap fan, you can imagine how exciting this is.
My brother questioned the number of bass players so I started listing them. When I got to Metallica, he said, "speaking of Metallica, have you heard Apocalyptica?"
I had not, so we consulted youtube and there they were (based on the number of views, I must have been in the small minority who had not heard of them. Anyways, the quick description is "four guys playing Metallica songs on cello". If you've not seen them, it is a sight to behold - here they are playing something other than a Metallica cover - you may know it....

We were discussing doing a tribute to the Spinal Tap Big Bottom Bass Fest at our last music night but it was too much to organize. I had this line prepared to introduce it to the crowd and at last I get to use it here: " You can't spell Bass without [censored]!" ;)
