Real-time Physics and Advanced Lighting

Over the past four months, I have seen 3 seperate companies/individuals write some pretty advanced plug-ins for MotionBuilder. One is a full physics, cloth and fluid implementation that works as a real-time constraint in MotionBuilder, while the other two are aimed at lighting and shading.
The highlights of these were real-time ambient occlusion, unlimited lights, real-time collision and an implementation of fragment lighting method (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Graphics_pipeline ). I am working with these 3rd parties to get some demo videos that I can post, as they really show what is possible using the OpenReality SDK to create custom functionality in MotionBuilder.
I am now looking to the community to see where they feel 3rd party companies should be focusing their efforts for plug-in development, as I get many requests from plug-in developers interested at creating plug-ins for MotionBuilder.
Send me your feedback and I’ll be sure to get these 3rd parties engaged!

Cheers,

Curtis Garton

This is great news Curtis… I have been desperately looking for an physics implementation within MotionBuilder but to no avail. While we have been able to develop some routines to handle our current pipeline, a more definitive solution would certainly be valuable. Do you have any more specific information available on who is producing these plugins?
