Academy award for Maya Fluids

I'm happy to report that the Maya Fluids team (Jos Stam, Julia Pakalns, Martin Werner and myself) will be presented technical achievement awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts. This year they are giving many awards in the area of fluid dynamics and there are many worthy recipients. The science and technology awards are based on overall historical use of the technology, as opposed to the movies within a given year.

The awards will be given at a dinner ceremony on Feb 9 (separate from the main Academy Award ceremony). It's fun that even us nerds can get Academy Awards.

Who’d want to rest on their laurels .. anyway ?

Sounds painful !

I hope this doesn´t mean that you will retire with your statuette, pleased with your achievement.
We still wish to see more Inside Maya tips!
And do we have to address you with the title “Oscar Winner” from now on?

Congratulations Duncan! Well-deserved.

Was this televised anywhere? I would like to put some faces to all those great programmers out there. I’d also love to hear about what drives these guys.
