I was recently directed to the this wiki site which hosts an extensive amount of 3ds Max video training. Because it is a wiki, it means that it can be improved and enhanced by the community. I think it's a brilliant idea. It's amazing how much content they already have up there. I can't vouch for the quality, but it seems to reflect modern workflows for the most part. I doubt it is a replacement for the professional content Autodesk and partners are providing, but it might be a good place for people to start that have basic questions.
Here's some notes from the site:
Wikivid is an encyclopedia of informative videos. Each content page is made up of links to free videos laid out as a video-course for anyone to watch and learn. Each page can be edited and moderated by anyone.
Each video can be imported into an article via the "Import Videos" feature at the bottom of each edit page. If you'd like to link to a video that is not yet included in the Import Videos database, simply submit it. By submitting it, the video will be linked with a Wikivid sidebar that allows for seamless viewing navigation.
