We also showed a research project that I was involved in, Geppetto, which is all about future innovations in character animation. We had one of our top Film/Post accounts tell us it was the most exciting thing they'd seen at SIGGRAPH. Without revealing too much, it showed how we could take mocap data and artfully interpolate it such that we could derive new motion seamlessly. It's hard to put in words - trust me, it's cool.
Finally, it was great meeting so many customers and talking to them about the future of 3ds Max. There's been so much confusion around the acquisition of Alias that it was great to reinforce, once again, that we're ramping up 3ds Max development and moving forwards with all guns blazing.
Thanks for the vote of confidence. We’re busy thinking up some more magic for you all.
I was also at the user group meeting. Geppetto was indeed very cool, it’s something I’m looking forward too in the future. On the Alias side the new dynamics system also looked very sexy. Fingers crossed it makes it into 3dsmax at some point in the future.
Geppetto and next gen dynamics in 3dsmax (me faints...) ;)
Cheers

Hi Ken,
Sorry I missed you at Siggraph, but I was at the User group meeting. I’m really looking forward to getting my hands on Max 9. Keep up the good work.
Alex
Hey,
I was able to make it to the Autodesk user group meeting and found it to be very beneficial. I found it most beneficial when ILM show the audience some of the techniques they used to make Pirates. ^_^
